Sooke RCMP is investigating a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle which claimed the life of the motorcyclist.

On October 1, 2023, at around 12:40 pm, Sooke RCMP responded to the 11000 block of West Coast Rd in Jordan River for a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pick up truck.

Initial evidence showed the driver of the pick up truck was travelling westbound on West Coast Rd and attempting to make a left turn into a Campground when the motorcyclist, who was travelling behind, attempted to pass into the oncoming lane. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the pick up truck.

The 56-year old motorcyclist unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Criminality has been ruled out and the BC Coroners Service is investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
