The Salt Spring RCMP Cram the Cruiser event held on July 27, 2023 at Country Grocer was a great success.

Many people donated to the food bank as police crammed the cruiser all the way to the roof. Those items included baby supplies, bathroom products, non perishable food items, and a $1,000.00 in cash. All items were transported to the Harvest Food Bank located at 268 Fulford-Ganges Road.

Police car filled with donated goods

The Harvest Food Bank assists individuals, seniors, and families with food scarcity throughout the year. "In addition to collecting donations to the Food Bank, we especially enjoyed speaking with the public about a variety of topics ranging from ongoing community issues to answering questions from those interested in starting a career in the RCMP", said Sergeant Clive Seabrook, detachment commander of the Salt Spring Island RCMP.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Country Grocer and their generous customers for making this event such a success. We will see you later this fall for our next Cram the Cruiser event at Thrifty Foods.
