Sunshine Coast RCMP has reinstated it's Speed Watch program. On Tuesday August 23rd you will see volunteers out front of the RCMP detachment on Teredo Street getting familiarized with the equipment.

Speed Watch may turn up in local "hot spots" noted by police and community members.  Using portable radar equipment and an electronic digital board, volunteers monitor speeds in school and playground zones, high crash zones, and neighbourhood streets.

Volunteers record the speed of vehicles and forward these reports to police and ICBC for statistical purposes. Areas with high incidents of speeding will be considered for future RCMP enforcement.
