Kamloops man arrested on warrants

A man wanted on warrants was taken into custody after he was located on the North Shore.

On Feb. 22, 2023, around 4:30 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers were called to a location on Tranquille Road where a man wanted on two warrants was reportedly present. The warrants were related to charges for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon while prohibited, firearms possession, and for assault with a weapon. Mitchell Nesbitt, 32, of Kamloops, was taken into custody without incident.

We are thankful to the public and the media for their assistance in locating Mitchell Nesbitt, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The Kamloops RCMP Detachment had published a news release on Thursday Feb. 16, 2023 regarding the warrants. The original release with Mitchell Nesbitt’s image has been removed from the Kamloops RCMP website as a result of the warrant execution.
