File # 2023-4547

A woman was arrested for multiple offences following a report of a Toyota Camry stolen from outside a store during the night.

On Feb. 8, 2023, around 1:30 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers responded to a store on 7th Avenue after a person had left their vehicle running to go inside, then came out to find it being driven away.

Officers conducted patrols and located the vehicle travelling westbound on the Trans Canada Highway, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. Further investigation revealed the suspect was also driving while prohibited and impaired.

A Kamloops woman was arrested, issued a 90-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act, and released with conditions and a court date related to the driving while prohibited and possession of stolen property allegations. Charges are anticipated as part of the recommendation process.

Anyone who witnessed or has information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-4547.
