Sunshine Coast RCMP Investigating Pedestrian Collision

On December 6, 2024 at approximately 10:30 pm, Sunshine Coast RCMP attended to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, in the 1400 Block of Sunshine Coast Highway, BC. Police, Fire & Paramedics attended the scene.

The Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service ( ICARS ) is investigating. Police believe the male was struck by a vehicle that was driving westbound on the highway. The vehicle remained on scene and the driver is fully cooperating.

The highway is being temporarily blocked to traffic, with a diversion in place and clear flaggers directing vehicles.

We remind everyone to exercise heightened awareness during heavy inclement weather and low-visibility hours to help ensure the safety of all road users.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any dashcam footage and or any information about the events leading up to it, to please contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP and reference file 2024-9453.
