Motor Vehicle Collision

On 12 April 2023 at approximately 5:08 PM, Nelson RCMP attended the scene of a two vehicle collision near 4181 Highway 3A in Nelson BC. According to witnesses, A white Ford F250 was travelling Southbound on Highway 3A when a Black Toyota Rav 4 travelling in the Northbound lane crossed the center line and struck the front of the white Ford F250. The driver of the Toyota - a 60 year old female - was transported to Kelowna General Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford F250 - a 38 year old female - was transported to Kootenay Boundary Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Highway was shut down for approximately five hours while emergency crews worked to clear the road.  The investigation is still ongoing.
