Revelstoke RCMP joins the 125th Revelstoke Winter Carnival

Revelstoke RCMP Detachment celebrated the city’s 125th anniversary by participating in the Revelstoke Winter Carnival, highlighting community connection and charity through fun and competition. The RCMP team’s entry into the carnival’s traditional outhouse races and their victory in the Fire vs. Police charity hockey game demonstrated their dedication to community engagement.

A highlight was the charity hockey match, which drew over 700 supporters and helped raise about $8,000 for local charities, with the RCMP defeating the Fire Department 4 to 2. This event not only showcased the friendly rivalry between emergency services but also their united commitment to the community's welfare.

Our active role in this year’s carnival reflects our ongoing commitment to community engagement, says S/Sgt. Chris Dodds, Detachment Commander. It was a fantastic opportunity for team building and connecting with the community. We’re proud of our participation and the funds raised for local charities.
